What this email deliverability test checks

One real email, five layers of checks. Here's what your report covers.

Inbox placement estimate

Where your email is likely to land at each major provider, based on everything the test finds.

  • Gmail86%
  • Outlook78%
  • Yahoo84%
  • Apple Mail88%

Example values. Estimates, not guarantees: one email can't show your full sending history.

Authentication

SPF, DKIM and DMARC results for the email you sent, including alignment with your From domain.

SPFpass
DKIMpass
DMARCpass

Blacklists

Your sending IP and domain against major blocklists. Lists we can't reach show as unchecked, never as clean.

DNS setup

The records behind your sending domain, from routing to reverse DNS and transport security.

How to read your deliverability score

Your report scores the email out of 100. Here's what each range means and what to do next.

  • Great90–100

Everything checks out. Keep sending consistently and re-test after any change to your setup.

  • Good75–89

A solid setup with a few gaps. Work through the remaining fixes to close them.

  • Needs work50–74

Issues are likely hurting placement. Clear the critical and high-priority fixes before your next send.

  • Poor0–49

Serious problems; expect spam placement. Fix authentication and any blacklist listing first.

The score

Calculated from the technical checks: authentication, blacklists, DNS and content. The same email always gets the same score, so you can re-test after each fix and see exactly what changed.

The verdict and placement

An analysis of your whole email and its setup that estimates where it lands at each provider and ranks the fixes. Treat placement figures as estimates, not guarantees.

A great score isn't a reputation. One email can't show your sending history, so a new domain can score 95 and still land in spam until it has built trust. Give new domains a few weeks of domain warmup first, or let the email warmup tool do it for you.

Poor sender reputation? Fix it with warmup.

Authentication and content are quick fixes. Reputation takes steady, positive engagement over time, which is what the Mailwarm email warmup tool builds, with a deliverability audit and an account manager for every customer.

Spam test vs deliverability test

A spam test usually means checking your content: the words, links and formatting that filters score. You can do that before sending with the email spam checker.

A deliverability test goes further. Because you send a real email, it can also check how that email was authenticated, which IP and domain it came from, whether those are blacklisted and how your DNS is set up. That's why it catches problems a content check can't, like a DKIM signature from the wrong domain.

Email Deliverability Test: Common Questions

Email deliverability is your ability to get emails into the inbox rather than the spam folder or the Promotions tab. It depends on authentication (SPF, DKIM and DMARC), your sender reputation, your content, and how recipients engage with your mail. An email can be delivered to the server and still be poorly placed.

To check the deliverability of an email, start the test above, then send your real email to the test address from the tool and domain you normally use. Within about a minute you get a score out of 100, likely placement at major providers, and every authentication, blacklist, DNS and content issue, with steps to fix each one.

Aim to get the large majority of your emails into the inbox, while keeping bounces low and spam complaints well below the 0.3% that Gmail and Yahoo set as a limit for bulk senders. In this test, a score of 90 or more is great and 75 to 89 is good. Below 50 needs attention before you send at volume.

Send your email to the test address above. The deliverability test runs it through SpamAssassin and shows the score with every rule that fired, where 5 or more usually means spam. For a quick content-only check before sending, paste your text into our email spam checker, which scores wording and formatting without a test send.

An inbox placement test shows where an email lands, such as the inbox, the Promotions tab or spam. Traditional tests send to a list of seed inboxes. This test analyzes your actual email, including authentication, reputation signals and content, and estimates placement at Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and Apple Mail. Treat the figures as estimates, not guarantees.

Fix email deliverability in order of impact: first authentication, so SPF, DKIM and DMARC all pass and align; then any blacklist listings; then content, such as spammy wording or broken links. Finally, rebuild sender reputation gradually with steady volume and real engagement, which is what email warmup does. The test lists the fixes for your email in priority order.
