BIMI Checker

Use this free BIMI checker to look up a domain's BIMI record, preview its logo, and see what's stopping the logo from showing in Gmail, Yahoo and other inboxes.

Examples:

What BIMI requires

BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) shows your logo next to your emails. It needs all four of these.

1

DMARC at enforcement

Your DMARC policy must be p=quarantine or p=reject, applied to 100% of mail.

Run a DMARC check
2

A BIMI TXT record

Published at default._bimi.yourdomain.com, with v=BIMI1 and the logo URL in l=.

3

An SVG Tiny PS logo

A square SVG using the Tiny Portable/Secure profile, served over HTTPS, ideally 32 KB or less.

4

A VMC or CMC certificate

Required by Gmail to display the logo. A VMC needs a registered trademark; a CMC doesn't.

BIMI record example

Host: default._bimi.yourdomain.com

Type: TXT

v=BIMI1; l=https://yourdomain.com/bimi/logo.svg; a=https://yourdomain.com/bimi/certificate.pem

l= points to your SVG logo and a= to your VMC or CMC certificate. Get DMARC to enforcement first with the DMARC generator.

BIMI Checker: Common Questions

Everything you need to know about BIMI and brand logos in email

Enter your domain in the BIMI checker above. It confirms your BIMI record exists at default._bimi.yourdomain.com, that DMARC is at quarantine or reject, that the logo is a valid SVG Tiny PS file, and whether a certificate is published. Then send a test email to a Gmail or Yahoo inbox to see the logo appear.

BIMI verification is how mailbox providers confirm you have the right to show a logo next to your emails. Your domain must pass DMARC at enforcement, and providers such as Gmail also require a certificate that proves the logo belongs to you: a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) for a registered trademark, or a Common Mark Certificate (CMC).

Yes, the BIMI record itself is free: it is a DNS TXT record you publish at no cost, and checking it here is free too. What can cost money is the certificate. Gmail only shows BIMI logos with a VMC or CMC certificate, which you buy from a certificate authority and renew each year.

To get BIMI verified, first move DMARC to p=quarantine or p=reject at 100%. Convert your logo to SVG Tiny PS and host it over HTTPS. Then obtain a VMC, which needs a registered trademark, or a CMC from a certificate authority, publish its URL in the a= tag of your BIMI record, and check the setup with a BIMI checker.

BIMI requires DMARC at enforcement (p=quarantine or p=reject applied to all mail), a BIMI TXT record at default._bimi on your domain, and a square logo in SVG Tiny PS format served over HTTPS. Most major providers, including Gmail, also require a VMC or CMC certificate before they display the logo.

A logo needs a good reputation behind it

BIMI logos only show for mail that reaches the inbox. Mailwarm gets it there, with automated warmup, a deliverability audit and an account manager for every customer.
